Here at the Glide Surf School we offer a variety of either GROUP or PRIVATE Surf lessons to suit the complete beginner through to the intermediate and more proficient surfer.
We take delight in providing lessons of the highest standard ensuring you will always be learning, improving and excited about surfing whatever your level. Your safety is of top priority so all of our lesson will include water and beach safety education as well as how to manage the current sea conditions on the day of your lesson. All our instructors hold a level 1 SURF & SUP coaching award, an SLSGB water safety / beach lifeguard award as well as being experienced and passionate surfers, paddle boarders and watermen. Please see our booking page to see what happens when the conditions are completely flat and not suitable to surf.
OPEN GROUP SURF LESSONS
These have a maximum ratio of 1:8 and are perfect for an introduction to surfing or SUP, to brush up on previous lesson or if you haven’t surfed or paddled in years and wanting to get back in the water. Standard OPEN GROUP lessons are for children 13yrs+ and Adults. KIDS OPEN GROUP lessons are for children 8-12yrs. These are all are available to book straight away via our online booking.
PRIVATE LESSONS 1:1 -1:2 (low Ratio)
These are bespoke, low ratio lessons are perfect for individuals or with a friend. They are suitable for those who are 8yrs + who want an introduction to surfing with a more personal feel. Private lessons are also suitable for a more intermediate surfer who desires to learn how to ride green waves and progress to basic manoeuvres. We also accommodate lessons for specialised disabilities, making them completely bespoke for the pupil requirements. When conditions are flat please see the various options for children 8-12yrs. These lessons are available to book straight away via our online booking and if you can find what you are looking for please do get in touch. Please note these will unlikely to be available during July and August due to such high demand of group lessons as well as only a certain amount of lesson time for available due to tides.
PRIVATE GROUP LESSONS 1:3 -1:7 (low Ratio)
These are bespoke, low ratio lessons and perfect for families and very small groups from 8yrs + who want an introduction to surfing with a more personal feel. When conditions are flat please see the various options for children 8-12yrs. Private lessons are also suitable for a more intermediate surfer who desires to learn how to ride green waves and progress to basic manoeuvres. These are available to book straight away via our online booking.
PRIVATE GROUP LESSON 8+ people
These lessons are perfect for any larger groups like stag & hen parties, schools, community groups, corporate businesses and birthday parties. Again these are completely bespoke and we have previously accommodated groups as large as 32. We recommend you contact us directly with as much advanced notice to ensure we can accommodate you as best possible.
CROMER LOCATION
Glide Surf School’s main location is overlooking the beautiful North Sea in the quaint seaside town of Cromer, and situated to the right of the iconic pier on the East Promenade. SURF and SUP (stand up paddle boarding) Lessons as well as equipment hire are offered daily from April through to October. Due to our shop being open from March to December lessons and hire can also be arranged during this period.
Experience the smaller clean swells protected by the pier or battling the bigger swells as they are channeled down the North Sea. Followed by a North Sea Coffee experience, locally made ice creams of 50+ choice or a delicious portion of the famous No1 fish and chips, Cromer really has it all!
MUNDESLEY LOCATION
7 miles East of our main location in Cromer we are now offering SURF and SUP (stand up Paddle Boarding) lessons as well as equipment hire on the golden sandy shores of Mundesley, also an RNLI lifeguarded beach.
We will be open daily during the main peak season of the summer holidays from mid July to end of August. You can find on the coastal road in the Beach Road car park, Mundesley, Norwich, NR11 8BG. Once you have enjoyed surfing a clean summer swell it is a perfect location to relax with some food and drink on the cliff top green or back on the beach.
