SUP Lessons

Here at the Glide Surf School we offer a variety of either GROUP or PRIVATE SUP (stand up paddle boarding) lessons to suit the complete beginner through to the intermediate and more proficient paddler.

We take delight in providing lessons of the highest standard ensuring you will always be learning, improving and excited about stand up paddle boarding whatever your level.  We start our stand up paddle boarding at 13 yrs+ in the sea.  However, we can accommodate participants as young as 8 years old for private 1:1 lessons as well at our inland private lake.  Your safety is of top priority so all of our lesson will include water and beach safety education as well as how to manage the current sea conditions on the day of your lesson.  All our instructors hold a level 1 SURF & SUP coaching award, an SLSGB beach lifeguard award as well as being experienced and passionate surfers, paddle boarders and watermen.  Please see our booking page to see what happens when the conditions are not suitable to SUP. 

OPEN GROUP SUP LESSONS

These have a maximum ratio of 1:8 and are perfect for an introduction to SUP, to brush up on previous lesson or if you haven’t paddled in years and wanting to get back in the water.  These are available to book straight away via our online booking.

PRIVATE LESSONS 1:1 -1:2 (low ratio)

These are bespoke, low ratio lessons are perfect for individuals or with a friend.  They are suitable for those who are 13yrs + who want an introduction to stand up paddle boarding with a more personal feel.  They are also suitable to a more intermediate paddler who desires to learn more advanced ways of turning, paddling with an increased speed, as well as paddling a further distance. We also accommodate lessons for specialised disabilities, making them completely bespoke for the pupil requirements. These are available to book straight away via our online booking and if you can find what you are looking for please do get in touch.  Please note these will unlikely to be available during July and August due to such high demand of group lessons as well as only a certain amount of lesson time for available due to tides.

PRIVATE GROUP LESSONS 1:3 -1:6 (low ratio)

These are bespoke, low ratio lessons and perfect for families and very small groups.  They are suitable for those who are 13yrs + who want an introduction to stand up paddle boarding with a more personal feel.  They are also suitable to a more intermediate paddler who desires to learn more advanced ways of turning, paddling with an increased speed, as well as paddling a further distance. These are available to book straight away via our online booking.

PRIVATE GROUP LESSON 8+ people    

These lessons are perfect for any larger groups like stag & hen parties, schools, community groups, corporate businesses and birthday parties and are suitable for those who are 13yrs +.  Again these are completely bespoke and we have previously accommodated groups as large as 16 for SUP.  We recommend you contact us directly with as much advanced notice to ensure we can accommodate you as best possible.
